US Patent No. 12,070,516 B2 (Liam Wilson, Heather Lee, Jun Liang); L’Oréal has patented a hair styling composition comprising one or more fatty amides, fatty alkanolamides, and/or alkoxylated fatty amides; one or more non-hydroxy substituted fatty acids; one or more hydroxy substituted fatty acids; and one or more low-polar oils.
The composition, which comprises less than 2 wt.% of water and exhibits non-Newtonian shear thinning behavior, has a wax-like consistency until subjected to shear.
